Essay 1

Cold Mountain is the most touching movie I have ever seen. First of all, Cold Mountain is an adaptation of a bestseller. The plot is mainly about the American Civil War which separates the couple and how the war changes the world. Inman has to leave Ada immediately because of the Civil War. Afterwards, Ada’s father died which makes Ada helpless. That’s because Ada does not know how to cook and how to do the household chores. In addition, the most familiar people leave Ada while America is in the midst of war. Ada has no body to rely on. How can a young lady handle the difficult situations like this！Then Ruby comes to help Ada in time. It is Ruby that pulls Ada out of depair. Besides, because of Ruby so that Ada learn to be a courageous woman. At last, although Inman died, indeed Inman and Ada do have a great time gathering
together.

My favorite role in the movie is Ruby, the one who helps Ada begin a new life. Ruby is not only Ada’s friend but she is also seems like her sister. Ruby teaches Ada how to do the chores and Ada reads the stories to Ruby. Though they do not have any blood relationship, they treat each other as their own family member. When we are in desperate, it is important to have someone like Ruby to pull us out of the terrible circumstances. Without them, we might give up our hopes and even our own lifes.

The affection between Inman and Ada really touches my inner heart. That is because Inman and Ada just know each other for a while, but they miss each other once they are separated. Above all, they stay faithful to each other and believe that one day they will get together again. All they can do is keep waiting. But they never try to forget each other even though they suffer from missing and uncertainty. It seems impossible for most of the people to keep loving someone once they are apart. I really appreciate their perseverance.

Futhermore, I do love the lines that Ada says after Inman dies for several years. She says ”What we have lost will never be returned to us. All we can do is learn from the past and make peace with it.” Isn’t that what we have to learn? Although the loving ones cannot get together, Ada chose to live and stopped looking back at the sad scenes. No matter what had happened, Ada just kept going forward. That’s what life is! There are always ups and downs in our daily lifes. If we yield to the frustrations, we get nothing out of the lesson. Isn't it?

Cold Mountain is one of my favorite movies. Although the plot is slow at first later I find it is interesting enough to attract me to keep watching. And I love the way that the director films the movie. Though at first I could not understand what is going on in the movie. But just keep watching then I really get some lessons out of the movie. Although the moviedoes not have a happy ending, it is still worth watching.

Merry Christmas

Though Christmas is at next week, there are already Christmas atmosphere all over the place now. I really love Christmas on account of that Christmas is a festival which makes people feel warm. People around you always give you Christmas cards or gifts that really touches my heart all the time. Besides you will see different kinds of christmas tree everywhere. They are always decorated with some creative ornaments. Perhaps you will see lots of Christmas tree in different kind of form. That's one of the most interesting things for you to discover. I went to SHIN KONG MITSUKOSHI tonight and I did saw some special Christmas trees. These are the pictures:This one is made of cardboard. It's pretty special right?

Time does fly

It's not far away from the end of this semester now. But it seems that the semester had just started yesterday , wasn't it? And the New Year is coming soon, but when I think of last year I was still worrying about my transfer test. And now I am here in another university and a semester almost passes by. To be honest, I never think of the day about transferr successfully on account of the tough transfer exam. This is one of the unexpected events in my life. Therefore tranfer had totally changed my life, because I met new friends, lived in another city and had to say good-bye to my old friends. Sometimes when you gain something ,you have to give up something. I think that's the rule of our life. Though I cannot meet my old friends very often, I also get along well with new friends here. The most important thing is that the people here are always very friendly.:D

I had been to Greece last Saturday!

Last Saturday I really had a good time because my old friends came to Taichung. We had a perfect lunch together that day. But actually we ate our lunch at two o'clock on account of the popularity of that restaurant called Traveler Kitchen. Traveler Kitchen has two stores in Taichung though they have different styles individually. And we were in the Greece Travler Kitchen last Saturday.
The waiter and waitress there are extremely passion and humor. The most important is that each of them have different kind of roles. As you can see the right one is a tourist in Greece and the left one seems like an goddess XD.

And the food in Traveler Kitchen there are really amazing. We had two appetizers one was Olive Oil Devilfish and the other one was Potato Box with Onion and Vegetable. The first one was a little bit ordinary but still delicious while the second one was more impressing not only because of its shape but also because of its special favor. Believe me ,you should really give it a try.
And we three people had three different kinds of main course which were Chicken and Pork Souvlaki , Greek Chicken Rice Pasta and Meteora Vegetable Spaghetti. And the most impressive dish was Greek Chicken Rice Pasta. From the picture you could see it looks like rice but its actually spaghetti and it was smooth and delicious.

We did eat a lot and chat a lot at Travler Kitchen.Though it is a little bit expensive but I think the food worth that price.Besides Traveler Kitchen is also beautiful if you like the house with white and blue. It really makes you feel that you are in Greece.Anyway if you are interested in this restaurant you can visit there website :http://www.tkitchen.com/greece_map.htm.But if you really want to have dinner or lunch there remember to reserve before two week in case you will have to eat dinner instead of lunch.:D

The cold weather

The cold weather really makes me feel terrible because of my running nose. And the wind is a little bit piercing sometimes. But the most terrible thing is that I seem to get cold. I hate eating pills so that I don't want to get cold. That's why I hate winter. But I think winter is a good season for me to experience warmness. Whether you feel warm because of a cup of coffee or the bedquilt, it really makes me feel comfortable and happiness. By the way, I drank a bottle of hot milk with a special straw yesterday. And the straw really impressed me because the straw was not as usual but with some cookies in it. And once I sipped, the milk was another kind of favor. Though the straw is made for children, but you should really give it a try because it is very amazing.

Home now..

After taking my last exam which was English Literarture, I went home as soon as possible. On my way home I saw a scene which made me start thinking of my dearest grandfather. When I was waiting for the train at the platform, I saw a little girl and his grandfather sitting there. At first, I didn't pay much attention to them but just sitting near them and looking at my novel. Later I hear the conversation between them. The littlle girl was eating cookies and she said that this half is mine and the other half is for you ,my grandfather. They both eat the cookies happily and they interact with each other closely. And the kid and the grandfather were just like I and my grandfather who brought me up with my grandmother. But there is no way for me to talk with my grandfather anymore because he is not alive now. I really miss my grandparents especially for my grandfather. But after the death of my grandfather, I realized what I should grasp now. All I have to do is spend more time with my grandmother as much as possible so that I won't regret afterwards.

Life should always be with desserts

This week is really not my week because of the upcoming mid-term. I feel a little bit anxious since it's my first big exam in NCHU. I strongly hope that every test will be succrssfuly done. Well, when I am not feeling well I always yearn for a piece of cake or some cookies. Desserts really make me feel better. They always do me a big favor when I am gloomy. It's a pity that there is no cake shop near NCHU. So I just went to Family Mart to look for some cake. Surprisingly,there is one special cake which is called Black Tea Tiramisu.I just could not help buying that cake. However, it is not a cake made by bakery so it's not that delicious. But it really makes me feel better then.

Special Friday

Today is really a wonderful day because of some special experience. First of all, I had watched the competition of cheer squad.The performence was really amazing. They did not only show their vigor but also their creativity.For example, they danced their best and they also added some unique ideas in dancing. By doing so the dancing was really attractive and also splendid!
Next, I went to the night market which located across from our school with my friend Big. Though the night market is not very large, the food there was delicious. One of the things that I recommended you to eat is honey barbecue. The chicken tastes wonderful. Besides, it was not expensive. You really should give it a try! But the shrimps there are not as delicious as it looked like. I felt regret about buying that one:( Futhermore, we found a great place for people to chat and eat. It is the overpass across the road which is calld Hsing Da road. The overpass is really beautiful at night. There are some lights shining. And it is just like a little park where people can take a stroll or sit there chatting. We had chatted a lot and took some pictures there . Most of all we really had a great time there. This Friday did make me relaxed and delighted.

One of my favorite songs ------Apologize

It is one of my favorite songs. I like the meloy and also lyrics.Besides, the music video is meaningful and beautiful.After hearing this song, I know that the lyrics say something toward us. Especially for the sentence "It's too late to apologize". Sometimes we hurt people but we just do not say anything to make up. Whether it is because of shyness or unwillingness, once you don't express your apologies then you hurt somebody. And if you do not apologize in time, you sometime make things go in a more worse way. Just like the music video represents! Sometimes it will become an unexpected situation, and you have no chance to make up anymore. Enjoy the music!

Inspiring Movies----------The Nanny Diaries

A couple of few minutes ago ,I juat finished watching the movie -----The Nanny Diaries. The first time I saw the title of the movie I was not interested at all. That's because I think it might be a funny comedy and after you had watched it you acquire nothing from the movie. So I just want to watch this movie for relaxing. But after I saw the movie, I REALLY got somthing!

The movie is mainly about a student who graduated from university and looking for her first job then she turns out to be a nanny of the upper side. During the movie, the nanny conquers a lot of difficult situation,for example, she gets along with the kid very well at last. Besides, she also teaches the upper side Mom something.



And after watching this movie, I learned something. Money really cannot buy everythhing. In the movie, Mr.X the kid's father spend a lot of time on his business but neglect his dearest child.
Therefore, Mr.X is Grayer's father but actually he is not the one who is close to his son. In addition, Grayer's mother only cares for herself but she does not feel anxious when Grayer was very very sick. Furthermore, I used to admire the upper side life style. But I think I am totally wrong because it does not mean they have a perfect life on account of the material comforts. Sometimes they suffer a lot more than we know. For instance, Mr.X argue with Mrs.X all the time and has affair with other women. And Mrs.X just has to stand the truth that Mr.X loves her no more. The most happiest thing in this movie is that the nanny Annie Broddock finally finds out what she is going to do. And I love what she said in the movie "You must immerse yourself in an unfamiliar world in order to truly understand your own." I absolutely agree with her! Only by staying in a totally different space can you figure out all the things. I guess that is because you think in a different angle so that you can know more about your inner heart.

At last , I really RECOMMEND you to watch this movie. It's great!!!

Pollution

Pollution makes the earth get worse day by day. There are many kinds of pollutions. For example, there are air pollution ,water pollution and so on. These pollutions took place in every country. It is human that pollute their own habitat. Till then, human did not notice that they should be responsible for the earth. They keep on destroying the earth as possible as they can.
Every morning, we walk out of our house and start polluting our lovely earth. We often ride a motorcycle or drive a car to our destinations. The carbon dioxide discharged into the fresh air not only makes the ozone layer become thicker but also harms our health. By inhaling the dirty air we might get cancer easily. Besides, when we are buying goods or food we just keep taking the plastic bags every time. But the plastic bags cannot be decomposed by the earth. What's worse, when we wash the dishes,the cleanig liquor contains lots of chemical substances which contaminated the clear strsams.
These are only some of the bad behaviors which destroys our earth. But there are even more contaminating situaitons take place in every where at every minute. If we don't become aware of it, we will have to disappear with our lovely earth together some day.
